About

Our story

Stitches for Care began with a simple idea: when hands are busy creating, hearts can be busy caring.

Why we started

We noticed that small handmade items—like a warm hat or a soft blanket—can deliver real comfort during recovery, transition, and difficult seasons. We started Stitch for Care to make kindness tangible and accessible.

Our work is student-led and community-powered. Every stitch is a reminder that someone is seen, supported, and not alone.

What we value

  • Care: comfort first—quality and thoughtfulness in every item.
  • Community: partner with local organizations to deliver responsibly.
  • Creativity: use craft as a way to give back and bring people together.
  • Consistency: small actions, repeated over time, create real impact.

What we do

  • Create handmade crochet items such as hats, blankets, and comfort pieces
  • Donate items to community organizations and individuals in need
  • Engage volunteers who want to give back through creativity
